Spring Cleaning? Start with Your Body

Spring is in the air. Nature is renewing itself and coming back to life. There’s a natural urge to spring clean your home and your surroundings, but have you ever thought of spring cleaning your body? Spring is the perfect time to make a positive lifestyle change. Instead of simply decluttering your home, declutter your life of the bad habits that make you feel unpleasant and weigh you down.

Increase Your Water Intake

Water is a vital part of any cleanse. It removes toxins that make us feel fatigued, sleepy and unfocused. It aids digestion, improves your energy and helps flush fat out of your body. By increasing your daily water intake, your skin also will become much healthier. Aim for 8 cups a day!

Define Your Goal

Think about what you want to achieve. Crawling out of winter and springing into warmer weather, you may find yourself wanting to rid yourself of bad habits you picked up. Maybe resetting after the holidays, increasing your water intake, making sure you are taking your daily supplements, or setting a goal to walk for 30 minutes 5x/week is the direction to take.

Meditate for Mental Health

Meditation isn’t just for those who love yoga. It is a great way to reduce anxiety and calm your mind. Take the time to simply sit, breathe and listen to the world around you. Research shows meditation positively affects stress, focus, mood and self-compassion.

A Better You

By taking the time to renew yourself, you take steps toward a better body, life and mind. Although taking that first step can be difficult, the payoff is great. You will find that you are happier, more productive and better rested. Don’t let another spring go by without cleaning out the toxins to take the best care of you.
